First Russian standalone book of 'Ballads of Robin Hood', edited by the famous Russian poet Nikolai Gumilev, who also translated two of the ballads.

The best Russian poets contributed to this edition, including Vsevolod Rozhdestvensky, Georgii Ivanov, Georgii Adamovich, and Adrian Piotrovsky.
The edition was printed in a limited run due to paper shortages during the period of War Communism. After Nikolai Gumilev's execution, the book was banned by Soviet censors. Adrian Piotrovsky was also later executed, while Georgii Ivanov and Georgii Adamovich emigrated from Soviet Russia.

OCLC locates only one copy of this edition: in the British Library.
