In 1928, Soviet icebreakers 'Malygin' and 'Krassin' participated in the rescue operation of Umberto Nobile's dirigible expedition.
This book comprises essays by various crew members, including expedition leaders Vladimir Wiese and Alexey Lavrov, polar aviator Mikhail Babushkin, meteorologist Mikhail Loris-Melikov (who was arrested in 1934 and died in prison), cameraman Ignatiy Valentei, captain Dmitriy Chertkov, and more. The book is enriched with numerous photographs documenting the expedition.
