The only edition with beautiful illustrations by May Miturich. First book edition of this translation of 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. The translation of 'Through the Looking-Glass' firstly appeared in the juvenile journal 'Koster' (Bonfire) in 1969 (# 3-7). One of 30 000 copies published.

Aleksander Scherbakov (1932-1994) was an engineer by profession, but the translator and writer on calling. He also translated books by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Charles Dickens, Rudyard Kipling, and Edgar Poe into Russian. He was awarded the 1983 Eurocon (European SF Awards) for his book 'Shift' and the 1996 Eurocon as the best translator.
May Miturich (Miturich-Khlebnikov, 1925-2008) was a Russian artist and book illustrator, nephew of futurist poet Velimir Khlebnikov and son of avant-garde artist Vera Khlebnikova. He studied at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute (later Moscow State University of Printing Arts), where later he taught. Miturich illustrated about a hundred books, including stories by Rudyard Kipling and James Barrie. In 2005 Mirutich was awarded the Japanese Order of the Rising Sun.
