This is the first 'Collected Works' of Mark Twain in Russian, spanning 11 volumes.
This copy combines the first two volumes under one cover. The first volume includes 'The American Claimant' along with humorous essays and stories, while the second volume features 'A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court'.
The translation of 'A Connecticut Yankee...' was done by the female translator Nadezhda Fedorova, about whom little is known. She also prepared the Russian edition (1900) of George Washington's biography by François Guizot.
