This collection of stories about movie actors and actresses was illustrated by the theater artist and book illustrator Nikolay Ushin (1898-1942). Tragically, he passed away during the siege of Leningrad.
The title originally used the Russian word 'fil'ma' in its feminine form. However, in the mid-1930s, it was changed to the masculine form.
