Marquez visited Moscow in 1987 to attend the XV International Film Festival, marking his third and final visit to the USSR. During his stay, the esteemed novelist engaged in a lengthy conversation with Mikhail Gorbachev, during which he expressed, 'You have never had a ruler of such intelligence, of such measure'.
These photos captured moments from the press conference held during that time. Notably, Galina Kmit (1931-2019), a renowned female photo artist and correspondent, was the author of one of these photographs.
