John Habberton (1842-1921) was quite popular in pre-revolutionary Russia. His first book in Russian appeared in 1905 (first edition of 'Trif and Trixy'). Furthermore, his novel 'Helen's Babies' was published in English in Riga in 1917 for Russian schools teaching the English language. After the Revolution, Habberton's works were no longer published in Russia.
