Books signed by the Soviet Nobel laureates are very rare.
In 1975 Leonid Kantorovich (1912-1986) and Tjalling C. Koopmans jointly won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for their contributions to the theory of the optimum allocation of resources. This book includes professor Kantorovich's autobiography and his Nobel Memorial Lecture (December 11, 1975).
It was signed to Oleg Vasilev (1925-2017), an eminent Soviet hydrologist. In 1977-1980 he led the Resources Environment Area and was Deputy Director at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA; Laxenburg, near Vienna). Leonid Kantorovich and Tjalling C. Koopmans both worked at IIASA during the 1970s.
OCLC locates three copies of this edition (only Sweden): in the National Library of Sweden, the Stockholm School of Economics Library and the Lund University Library.
