In the 1950s, he joined the prestigious Soviet news agency ITAR TASS. In 1960, he joined the esteemed magazine 'Ogonyok', where his extraordinary talent flourished until his untimely passing. He was honored with the prestigious World Press Photo contest award in 1964.
