This photobook, described in its annotation as a ‘photostory’, was created by the renowned Ukrainian photographer Mykola (Nikolai) Kozlovsky (1921–1996). It focuses on the ballet dancers and the artistic traditions of the Kyiv State Opera and Ballet Theater named after Taras Shevchenko. Kozlovsky, known for his artistic and documentary photography, worked as a special photo correspondent for the Ukrainian edition of the magazine ‘Ogonek’. His talent earned international recognition: in 1955, Edward Steichen included Kozlovsky's photograph of traditional dancers in the globally touring exhibition ‘The Family of Man’ at the Museum of Modern Art.
