The main characters of this humorous verse, akin to a cumulative tale, are Mishka, a boy afraid of mice; a cat afraid of a dog named Kroshka; and a mouse afraid of cats.
The book was illustrated by Alexandra Soborova (1882-1935), a female graphic artist, children's book illustrator, and poster artist. She studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture and worked at the Mirimanov Publishing House.
