Albert Rhys Williams (1883–1962) was an American journalist and publicist who wrote memoirs about the October Revolution of 1917 in Russia, of which he was both a witness and a participant.
The second part of the book comprises the memoirs of Raymond Robins, who led the American Red Cross expedition to Russia in 1917. His notes were recorded by William Hard.
The book was banned due to Williams' sympathy for Leon Trotsky and the mention of Alexander Krasnoshchyokov, who was the first Chairman of the Government of the Far Eastern Republic and later Deputy Minister of Finance under Nikolay Krestinsky. Krasnoshchyokov was arrested twice and executed in 1937.
