This children's book delves into the everyday life of the Eskimos, covering activities such as hunting, drinking seal blood, and fire making.
The text was prepared by prominent anthropologist and ethnographer Maksim Levin (1904-1963), known for his studies in anthropology and ethnography of the peoples of Siberia and the Far East.
Illustrations were created by graphic artist Petr Staronosov (1893-1942), who spent considerable time in Siberia studying the lives of indigenous peoples. In the mid-1930s, he was arrested and imprisoned.
