This book, written by Serge Lifar (1905–1986), one of the greatest ballet dancers and choreographers, examines the life and legacy of Sergei Diaghilev (1872–1929), the founder of the Ballets Russes. The first part delves into Diaghilev’s biography, while the second focuses on Lifar’s personal recollections, artistic journey, and their close relationship.
This French edition is a translation of the Russian book titled 'Diagilev i s Diagilevym' ('Diaghilev and With Diaghilev'), originally published in Paris in 1939 in a limited run of just 615 copies.
