This game book, with explanations of the rules in three languages, is about the battles between the Sioux, Native American tribes, and cowboys. At the beginning of the book, there are examples of figures in color (men, trees, bushes, stones, and a house). The other figures are in black and white and need to be colored, cut out, and attached to special stands.
Interestingly, in 1930, an identical book titled ‘Orbis-Malbuch mit aufstellbaren Figuren. Band 2: Im Wilden Westen’ (‘Orbis Coloring Book with Stand-Up Figures. Volume 2: In the Wild West’) was published in Radebeul, featuring illustrations by Carl Lindeberg (1876-1961), a Swedish painter, illustrator, and graphic artist working in Germany. Lindeberg became well-known primarily through his illustrations for the Radebeul Karl-May-Verlag, producing a total of 20 volumes of ‘Orbis’ coloring books. Most likely, this Riga edition, published without any information about the illustrator, was published illegally.
