The first part focuses on life in Armenia before the Revolution, including 'V chas ispytaniia' and 'Armiansko-tatarskaia reznya' - works addressing the Armenian genocide.
The second part features stories from the book 'Majestic', which depicts the lives of Armenians in the United States and was published in 1928.
The Armenian writer Karen Mikaelyan (1883–1941) was imprisoned in 1937, as was one of his translators, P. Makincian, a former Minister of the Interior in the Soviet Armenian government and editor of 'The VChK Red Book'.
