War-time edition. Very rare.
The book was published with information on the back wrapper attributing the text and illustrations to individuals named I. Gir and K. Levich. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that it is actually 'The Tale of Benjamin Bunny' by Beatrix Potter (1866-1943). This pirated Russian edition was published without any acknowledgment of the real author. Furthermore, the book's first edition, which appeared in 1941, also lacked any information about the author and illustrators.
