Advertising for two of the finest luxury hotels in Budapest, featuring Hungarian and French cuisine restaurants and dance venues.
An illustrated map of Hungary with a tour itinerary is depicted on the other side of the fan. The map delineates automobile routes in red and railroad routes in black, and it was illustrated by András Biczó. Biczó, who studied at the Hungarian Royal Academy of Fine Arts, later gained recognition for creating greeting cards and illustrations for children's books.
The Grand Hotel Hungaria, opened in 1871, hosted a concert by Ferenc Liszt in 1877. Among its distinguished guests were Thomas Edison, Giacomo Puccini, Richard Strauss, and Vaslav Nijinsky. Unfortunately, the building was destroyed in 1945.
The Grand Hotel Ritz, inaugurated in 1913, was renamed Dunapalota in 1916.
