This renowned children's magazine issue features an article about Muhammad Ali and the Black Muslim movement in America. The article includes Ali's verse, translated into Russian by Joseph Brodsky, titled 'Cassius-Boaster'.
Regrettably, we were unable to ascertain the original verse that described Ali's victories over his rivals, Sonny Liston and Joe Frazier, in 1963 and 1965 respectively. It is possible that Brodsky compiled this poem from various songs by Ali, primarily based on 'I Am the Greatest'.
Mikhail Belomlinsky (1934-2020), the co-designer of the magazine's cover for this issue, was also the illustrator of the first Russian edition of Tolkien's 'The Hobbit'.
