The advertising leaflet for the film 'War and Peace' (directed by Sergei Bondarchuk, 4 series, 1965-1967) - one of the most important films in the history of Soviet cinema.
The Russian version of the film, based on Tolstoy's novel 'War and Peace', became a matter of pride for the Soviet Union. Filmmakers were granted access to museum collections, and the Ministry of Defence of the USSR sponsored battle scenes.
This edition was published for the first screening of the first series of the film. It features color and black-and-white photographs by set designer Vladimir Uvarov.
'War and Peace' won the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film (1969) and the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film (1969).
